About

Properties of physical and chemical Of Metals and non Metals Metals and non-metals differ in several ways: 1. Physical Properties: - Metals: Generally shiny, good conductors of heat and electricity, malleable, ductile, and have high melting and boiling points. - Non-metals: Generally dull, poor conductors of heat and electricity, brittle, and have low melting and boiling points. 2. Chemical Properties: - Metals: Tend to lose electrons and form positive ions, react with oxygen to form basic oxides, and react with acids to produce hydrogen gas. - Non-metals: Tend to gain electrons and form negative ions, react with oxygen to form acidic or neutral oxides, and do not react with acids in the same way metals do. 3. Position on the Periodic Table: - Metals: Found on the left and center of the periodic table. - Non-metals: Found on the right side of the periodic table. DO YOU LIKE VIDEO GAMES ANALOGIES? Let's think of a video game where you have two different types of characters: Warriors and Mages. 1. Physical Properties: - Warriors (like Metals): They are strong (malleable and ductile), shiny with their armor (generally shiny), and have high stamina and health points (high melting and boiling points). They are also good at close combat (good conductors of heat and electricity). - Mages (like Non-metals): They are not as physically strong as warriors (brittle), and they wear robes instead of shiny armor (generally dull). They have lower health points (low melting and boiling points), and they are better at ranged combat, using magic instead of physical strength (poor conductors of heat and electricity). 2. Chemical Properties: - Warriors (like Metals): They tend to be aggressive, charging into battle and losing health points (lose electrons and form positive ions). When they encounter enemies (react with oxygen), they fight them head-on, resulting in a straightforward battle (form basic oxides). When they encounter obstacles or tra
